Demon Kogure: Demon's Rock show ! (2007 Avex entertainment) : I don't know why but the image is in 4:3 on my Blue-ray player.The music is only in stereo and no subtitle ( and he speaks a lot to the audience). I bought the dvd because many people said it 's a great hard rock 's band ( but in fact the music is very soft, rock with keyboards). It's true that the visuals is particular, but the light show is so so, everybody is static (where is the rock's spirit ?).The melodic line is always the same, i miss relief, the vibe is away. I don't recommend that show except if u're japanses or know the product before.
Dimmu Borgir- " the Invaluable darkness" 2008 : I never been a big fan of Black meatl, mostly of the old school generation or underground one.Not my style. But i have to admit that some bands have something more than others ( Cradle of Filth, Dimmu...). So, it was a really good surprise to watch this dvd.Just have a look of Wacken, august 2007 ( dvd n° 2). The visuel is very nice, the black stage is quiet big and see all this fans, it kicks !! ( and the bassist has a nice clear voice). One more point, it's 6 videos selection. To my opinion, that's the best value in that style. Watch "Progenies of the great apocalypse" or the very satanic "vredesbyrd" ( a video where u see a bloody Christ on a cross, many flames....), same style with "sorgens" ( one mre time about church) or " the sacrilegious scorn" ( about religious sacrifice and inquisition, and u can see a monk throw his wood's cross)......The P3 session are less interesting ( sound or style more common) . The dvd 1 show u a live show in Oslo , Norway in 2007, their country and a room full of die-hards ( 10 titles) but i really prefer to see the wacken show. U have also a behind the scene ( with a small camescope but not really exctiing) some extract s of Berlin and London 's concerts ( witha sound more underground).To conclude, Dimmu give us a full product. Thanks !
D.A.D- Good clean family 2003 ( EMI) : Good idea to release this dvd, u can watch all videos of the danish band. My favorite " sleeping my day away" or the funny "girl nation", or one of their first video "it's after dark".The dvd has a nice menu and u can select some extras ( a nice video in NY or "home alone" in a lighthouse) . Don't forget the new release album "monster philosophy" in 2008.
Dire Straits-Autumn in Nimes 1992 (dvd pro) :
U have a menu for this dvd from Crime Crow production.Yes i bought it when i see this concert was in Nimes ( remenber the concert of rammstein there in 2005).2 hours of music.The concert begins by "calling Elvis" , "walk of life" ( with his famous keyboards intro), , the superb " Romeo & Juliet" and his saxophone player; " the mega hit "Money for nothing" with his killing electric intro ( the audience's getting crazy....so Mark stop it...)....The cameras are presents but the image is just good. It's not the last within Temption or Mika for dvd 's quality but it's worth to buy it.
Dio -live at the monster of rock ( pro shot) 87 : Old show from Ronnie James Dio recorded in Italy (Arena del reggio emilia) in august 26th 1987. Bad image (even tV show) and a sound just better (up the volume). But don't be afraid, it's not the worth bootleg so have a look because the show the show is heavy and the live performance is good ( see the young goldie) & the track list not bad: "all the fool's sailed away", "dream evil" "long live rock n roll".......the dvd has a menu with a direct tracks access.
David Lee Roth-live in NY : This shiw is an auido cam. The quality is so so. The camera is far from the stage, even with the zoom. Good for fans because the sound is ok.U have a menu and bonus ( live show from tv "late night with Conan o' brien").
Dangerous Toys- live & videos :
Pro shot dvd from Dangerous toys ( with videos clips bonus) is quiet rare , isn't it? So get it.The dvd has a menu for chapter selection.Good to see "teasing and pleasing" video (taken from VH1) one of their best song, some interview, the concert in Largo has a quality acceptable (multi cameras and a good sound) and show us that Dangerous Toys deserve more than they got (maybe due to the third album).At the end u have 5 videos & interview. A dvd to get for all sleaze's diehard.
Destruction-live discharge (official) : Good dvd from this german 's band. Nice menu to select the concert (and backstage)or bonus & extras.The stage is bigger than i thought, the stage design is big "destruction " logos & a luminous show for the inside door show. U have also songs taken from open air festivals (track chossen by fans).Bonus are not forgotten: austarlian tour (canberra...), some videos not very originals, photos gallery from Prattelen 83, Canada 02...), and an interview in the tour bus( we learn they played with Iron Ange in 84, a german band with a very good second album).......
Def Leppard-Classic albums : The serie classic albums present "hysteria" from Def Lepppard multi platine album...and many interview to understand the conception.
Deep purple- live raities : First constituent of this compilation from brazil.
Dare- live in Munich : DVD release by MTM. U have extra video "delivrance" ( not bad) and short interviews in V chapters ( about the beginning of Dare, the different albums, his past in Thin Lizzy when he was 17...). The show was recorded during a festival in Munich. The show is not very long ( 10 songs) but the quality is there. The video montage is very good and the sound is clear ( but we don't hear too much the audience... maybe because it was raining !) even too soft for me.
Doro-classics diamond (TV show by WDR) : If u like Doro ( ex Warlock) , get this dvd . The image is very beautiful for a TV show.No menu and no selection for sound. But the show is nice, the orchestra is nice with songs like "für immer", also intersting the cover of "breaking the law" with an acoustic guitar, without forget "all we are" ( funny there is nothing in this song and people love it???), so a very good bootleg.
Dokken -live in Italy : The dvd has a nice menu . Show from 1995 in Roma. A nice set list with all my favorites songs "alone again"; "kiss of death"; "in my dreams" "the hunter", "into the fire". The sound is true, very authentic.The camera filmed the show from the middle , nice image, good zoom (the stage is not very big). Not easy to appreciate the voice of Don Dokken here, but the melody are there and reminds me the 80's.
